Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ - the Zone) is one out of the eight operational Special Economic Zones of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry under the SEZ scheme.

The Falta Special Economic Zone is located in a pollution free sylvan environment, at a distance of about 55 kilometers from the heart of Calcutta city and about 45 kilometers from the southern suburbs. It is well connected by a developed network of roads including a State highway, two ports at Calcutta and Haldia and the International airport at Dumdum.

Falta Special Economic Zone is set up on an area of 280 acres out of which 253 acres are fully developed and 27 acres of area are still under development

The office of the Development Commissioner serves as the one-window office for all the units in the Zone, including customs, security and the office of the Labor Commissioner of the Government of West Bengal, situated within the Zone/ West Bengal State Electricity Board.
